FAQ:
What should I bring with me for my canoe or kayak rental?
We recommend dressing for the weather and bringing a full water bottle. It helps to have shoes or sandals you can get wet to make it easier for you to get in & out of the canoes or kayaks. If you are planning to bring your camera, phone, or other valuables that cannot get wet, please come with a small drybag or ziploc bags to keep them in.
Can I rent canoes and kayaks overnight or transport them to another lake?
For multi-day rentals, or offsite rentals, please contact Jackpine Paddle
What are my responsibilities as the renter?
If the rental equipment is not returned in satisfactory condition with an unreasonable amount of wear and tear as determined by Sundog/Jackpine Paddle Staff, the client accepts responsibility for replacement at full market price of an equivalent product, including shipping and GST. Some examples of unreasonable wear and tear include deep gouges, punctures for cracks in the hull, visible damage to the gunnels, seats, yoke or thwarts, and deformation of the hull including creases, seams and bulges. The client agrees to avoid paddling in wind/water conditions that are beyond their skill level.
Sundog/Jackpine Paddle requires a personal floatation device (lifejacket) to be worn at all times while on or near the water while using our equipment during tours, lessons or rentals. CSA or Transport Canada approved PFD’s are supplied with every boat, tour or lesson. All boat rentals also include buoyant heaving line (15m), a bailer, and a sound-signaling device (a whistle) to comply with Transport Canada regulations. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure these items are in the kayak or canoe when on the water.
Where do we meet you?

Is there parking on-site?
